Is rain on your wedding day bad luck or good luck? People always wonder. Why could wedding day rain be a sign of good fortune? It seems like it could be a disaster. People tend to worry about the weather on the big day. Will it be inclement or incredible, and are always looking for information forecasting about the anticipated weather. Your wedding day should be one of the happiest days of your life. A day filled with love, joy, hope, expectation, and excitement. Well Vanessa and Matthew’s wedding was definitely a day filled with love, joy, hope, expectation and excitement.

Most couples dream of a wedding day that’s absolutely perfect down to the last detail, but for Vanessa and Matthew, there were a few more bumps in the road than for most!  They held their beautiful and intimate wedding at Edrom Lodge in Eden at the South Coast…but they ended up facing one of their biggest challenges on their wedding day itself – a downpour of rain..and not just a little rain…flooding and road closures! Luckily Vanessa and Matthew kept it all in perspective and didn’t allow a little rain to dampen their day. If it rains on you wedding day, take advantage of it and embrace it, like Vanessa and Matthew did.

Of all the things to worry about in the days leading up to your wedding, the weather shouldn’t be one of them. And, despite what Alanis Morissette has to say on the matter, the good news is that rain on your wedding day is traditionally considered a good omen, and can actually be great for your wedding photos.

This image is one of my favourites from their day…Vanessa bought gumboots for each of them to wear just in case the weather turned bad – thank goodness she did!

(different Vanessa + Matt from previous post- yes i have had two couples with the same names)
