Archive for November, 2011

Honestly, 2011 has been such an amazing year and I’ve had the absolute pleasure of sharing it with so many amazing couples such as Lisa and James. You have no idea how excited I am to share these photos with you. Not only because this couple is ridiculously gorgeous and the bridal party an absolute blast to work with, but also because they are just one of those perfect couples with one of the most loving families i have seen.

Speed dating…this is how the gorgeous bride and groom met. So what is speed dating?  You meet 10-12 singles in your preferred age range in a series of 8 minute dates. After each 8 minute date you can select on your match card who you’d like to see again. For those participants who you ‘match’ with, you’ll get their contact details the next day! So this is where it all began for Lisa and James, an initial 8 minute date.

Lisa and James are such a wonderful couple – I could not be more pleased that they now call themselves husband and wife.  The day began with Lisa getting ready at the Hotel Realm, where the girls enjoyed getting ready in style . Lisa and James were married at the Duntroon Chapel in Canberra. During the ceremony the look of absolute joy on both of their faces was priceless. The reception was held at The Lobby restaurant where i listened to the best speeches i have ever heard .  I can’t help but smiling going through their photos and remembering their wedding day as it unfolded.

Lisa and James, thank you for choosing me as your photographer. I will never forget your special day…

I want to give a big shout out to my wonderful second shooter, Kellee Walsh.   The day could not have been better and I thoroughly enjoyed working alongside you.

What a perfect way to finish up such a wonderful 2011 wedding season than with Narell and Ashleigh’s beautiful Civil Union ceremony.

Hollywood Glamour seems like a fairy tale in a far away land. It was an era of glamour, elegance and enchantment! An era when women were the epitome of beauty and style. An era when the women of Hollywood seemed to easily embrace mystery, sex and power. From long flowing gowns that seemed to just float across the screen, to tight sexy dresses that clung to every voluptuous curve. Think sparkly diamonds and finger waved curls. Narell and Ashleigh’s wedding gowns were beautiful but the beauty of the dresses faded in comparison with the women who wore them…I think you will see what i mean when you see the images below.

What an amazing day at Lanyon Homestead, a beautiful venue, two gorgeous women, a super fun bridal party and a celebration of the love between Narell and Ashleigh. Their civil union ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt- filled with laughter and some tears of joy. Thank you for sharing yourselves with me, for your trust in me and for such an amazing day! Have a wonderful honeymoon and i can’t wait to see you both when you return. xxx

Reception: Lanyon Homestead
Band: “Something Like This”
Celebrant: Julie Rattenbury  -

Saturday morning I was woken up by the sound of heavy rain.  But…cloudy skies and rain would not ruin this beautiful couple’s day. Amanda and Brett would have to be two of the nicest people i have ever met.  As Amanda was getting ready the clouds seems to melt away and by the time the ceremony started the sun was out.  The reception took the term “garden wedding” to an entirely new level with gorgeous hand-made rugs, picnic baskets filled to the brim with delicious surprises, pink lemonade, an amazing layered cake, paper cranes delicately placed, and a game of croquet.

Amanda & Brett are such a delight to be with and I could not be more pleased that they now call themselves husband and wife.  They love each other and compliment each other in so many ways..and it was such a joy to be there to celebrate the day with them. Thank you for letting me be part of your special day and for being so relaxed and great fun.. I had the best day with you both and I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon!  xx
